Floral Games

Floral Games is a novel by Sergio Pitol in which a frustrated writer-narrator attempts to reconstruct and recount the story of a couple—Raúl and Billie—whose intense and complicated love ended in collapse. Most of the plot unfolds in Rome and other locations such as Venice and Jalapa, where the narrator blends reality, memories, and fiction, observing the protagonists with obsessive attention. Through interwoven narratives and varying perspectives, the story explores the characters' inner lives, the blurring of the lines between reality and imagination, and the difficulty of understanding love, identity, and creative failure.
